Researching My Topic

This blog post is to everyone out there in college or high school having difficulty narrowing down your topic for a report or essay.
I know exactly what you are thinking right now, you have one piece of your topic in mind but don't know where else to turn to find the rest of what you need- well I have the solution for you.
The three easy steps I followed to find my topic are simple, and did not take long at all. The first thing you need to do with the part of topic you have, is come up with a question which you can ask yourself to expand your internet and book research. You have to prepare a few key words that you can search to open up your essay a bit more. So instead of just researching the one or two words you have already, you can use these other related key words to bring up more to write about in your paper.
The second thing you need to do is take those keywords that you now have, and search multiple engines for results you want. One suggestion I have in this step is using something other than Google.com, which seems like the most popular engine to use. A few I would recommend to you that I recently found out about are these:
www.Dogpile.com
www.AltaVista.com
www.Surfwax.com
These can take you around the web where you may not have been taken while using Google or Bing. Now that you know a few new places to look around for some help with your topic, we can move on to the final step. I took all of the websites, stories, and other topics I want to use on my works cited page, and I used a Bibliography creator on www.Bibme.com. This is a very easy way to keep track of all the websites, magazines, and books that you find throughout your research process.
So now that I explained the approach I took in the point in time of my research paper, I hope I could help anyone else out there that was as lost as I was. I found this process very simple, fast, and easy to find and save all my work that I did in finding out about my topic. Thank you for reading.
